Approximately 10% of people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) experience eye problems. Most of these are treatable and do not pose any significant threat to loss of vision. However, for anyone with IBD, regular examinations by an ophthalmologist are very important. If you have IBD and notice any type of eye irritation or inflammation, seek a doctor’s care immediately.
