Local Transportation

In the US, where public transportation is available and funded by federal grants, transportation services must also be available to the elderly and disabled. Contact your local transportation authority (public bus or other transporation service) for more information.

Even if you aren’t disabled, but driving is difficult, or reading traffic or street signs is difficult, you may qualify for this program.

Door to door transportation services are available for medical appointments, employment, and personal use.

If you qualify for the program, you can use it anywhere in the US where the service is available for 21 rolling calendar days per year, without having to qualify for the service in the new area. Contact your local service to initiate the process of establishing eligibility in other areas.
