Allergies can be difficult to treat for many reasons. First, there are countless allergens, and the sheer number of possible allergens can make identifying the allergen difficult. Second, a person may be allergic to more than one allergen, making both diagnosis and treatment difficult. Finally, the allergen may be something in the environment that is very difficult to eliminate completely, such as dust or pet dander.
When treating ocular allergies, do not become discouraged if changes you make to your environment make only a small improvement to the way you feel. Remember that even small changes can make a difference, and many small changes together can make a big difference.
